Nothing to Prove
I was chatting with someone the other day and they reminded me of one of my favorite sayings, ‘Anything simple, need not be explained.’ I didn’t know how much I needed to hear that, until I exhaled.
So often, we move to justify ourselves…to prove we’re good, prepared, worthy. But what if you didn’t need to convince anyone today? Not even yourself. You’re allowed to be, not just perform.
The next time you find yourself over-explaining or over-apologizing. Pause. Ask yourself, ‘What am I trying to prove? What would it feel like not to?’
You are enough.
